When I was a kid, homemade granola was a huge treat. My Dad would be so proud of himself and the delicious granola he’d conjured up…until he went to eat some and found it all gone. Yeah, that was me. It was so good, I would sneak it before anyone else could gobble it up! I mean, I had 3 hungry siblings. I had to seize that opportunity!
As an adult, I would buy store bought granola but it was never the same. It was so sugary and kind of expensive! So now I am carrying on the tradition of making healthy, tasty, real food granola for my family. I mean, I still gobble most of it up but I do try to share.
You can easily change the type of nuts or seeds in this recipe to whatever you have on hand. It’s a very forgiving recipe!
This granola is great added to yogurt (I love plain yogurt with a dab of my homemade jam), with cold milk, or just eaten by the handful. It’s delicious either way! The carb plus protein combo keeps you full and the warm, sweet flavors keep you coming back for more. It might actually be a little too addictive but I just don’t care!
I hope you love this granola as much as we do.
